Back in the mid 70s it was the Protein Diet .. I had just finished a year of military school and had joined a real unit .. a combat division. Though I was not technically overweight, I did have a slight beer gut .. so I went on this fad diet. Basically, it involved drinking roughly 16 oz of a high protein conglomeration and taking a handful of vitamins & minerals daily. There was no food eaten during this diet .. none! Lots of water and the crap I just mentioned was it. I stayed on this diet around 14 days and lost eight pounds. A year or so later this diet was outlawed by the FDA and it was no longer sold. A few folks died from it .. for various reasons. I see this Hoodia humma-humma as being similar to that diet. Amazing it is but after the 3rd day or so on that diet I did not miss eating .. didn't feel hungry .. and that was probably dangerous too. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
