Guest guest
Hi Butch..... I agree that the lists do not need to become police states. That would take more time than most people have to deal with it. This to me is a matter, not of wanting to hang Martha to a tree but to make people aware that as you say, there is a lot of misinformation out there readily available and you have to be wise enough to not take everything as gospel and do the research yourself. But, knowing that is the case, think, think again and then speak before you say something on list that you " Know " is not true. P.s. Hope that your little munchkin is growing like a weed.....so to speak ......LOL Evelyn www.alternasense.com " If you don't talk to your cat about Catnip, Who will. " >>>>>>>>>I do not think we need an atmosphere where folks who step on it need to >humble themselves and be humiliated in order to be accepted again. Both the List Mom and Dave gave good advice on this matter .. at least, it was good enough for me. That's my position and I'm sticking to it. Over the last 12 years or so I've watched lists be born and I've watched them die .. those that died were usually similar to those described by Dave .. below. I hope we can get on with business .. whatever that is. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch
Guest guest
Hi Paula, Second try .. was bouncing me. ;-) > It was well beyond " poor judgment " and an apology to the list is > the least that should have been posted. But the list doesn't rate > a personal apology or even a personal I'm sorry. If you have what > it takes to post that kind of garbage, you should also have what it > takes to stand up and say I screwed up. How are new members supposed > to learn if something like that is one of the first posts they read ?? Please don't take my comments personally .. they are not intended to be personal .. they are intended to be a matter of what I see as good administrative policy. This list has never been one where folks who screwed up were pushed to publicly apologize .. and as but one of a few monitors of the list I do not see a need for it to become such a list. So .. if this lady does decide to apologize (she is on a moderated status) and I see the post .. I will not approve it. If the List Mom or one of the other monitors gets there before I do .. they might approve it. > Perhaps if part of your income stood to be affected by false information, > you might consider it to be more than poor judgment. It is difficult enough > to attempt to educate people about the benefits of EO's without someone's > " poor judgment " . How bored was she really and where else did she send her > 'joke' ? If I want to learn false information, I can do it on my own, not > somewhere I expect to find quality and correct information. What's next on > this list ?? Lavender oil proves deadly ??? > Paula .......... in Michigan > I used to have super powers but my therapist took them away There is a lot of misinformation on this list .. if each post that is based on misinformation, disinformation, rumor and marketing hype were to be challenged then we would be a battleground. Folks will use poor judgment from time to time because folks are folks .. we are not perfect critters and this list is not a perfect list .. but its most likely the best one around. Every post I make is subject to affect my income .. but I still do what I think is right. And until the List Mom decides that I should be removed as a Monitor I will continue to do that. I do not think we need an atmosphere where folks who step on it need to humble themselves and be humiliated in order to be accepted again.
