Guest guest
Hello to all my listmates, I am soon to be on an airplane travelling on a long flight and know that I want to take an eo blend with me to sniff or spray or both. I definately do NOT want to pick up any yucky bugs on this flight!! (going to celebrate my 10th anniversary and get that honeymoon I never had after we married!)So.. I am getting ready to place an order for some catnip eo since I will be making a bug repellent to have as well and thought I'd better get on here and ask. If anyone has some blend ideas for the plane, I would greatly appreciate it and if it's something I don't have already, I can get that too. I really value the opinions of those Aromatherapists and educators on this list. Thanks in advance! Margaret ps. I have Martin's " Plant Aromatics " so will be able to look up appropriate dilutions for any blend suggestions I get that will go on the skin. Guest guest
Hi Margaret, I make a blend of Tea Tree EO 50 drops per 2 oz., Rosemary EO 30 drops and Lavender EO 30 drops, you can suspend in distilled water for a spray, but you will need to shake it well before spraying or you can suspend in Jojoba or carrier oil of your choice and put below your nose, also Oregano Oil is one of the best. Guest guest
Also try Airborne - - it is a vitamin/mineral/herbal supplement here in the US - sold almost everywhere Lesley (AZ)
Guest guest
Hi Lynn, Thanks for the blend. Sounds like one I could make up as a nice smelling " area spray " that wouldn't be offensive to others on the plane if they caught whiff of it. They might even be grateful. lol Margaret www.naturalindulgences.com > I make a blend of Tea Tree EO 50 drops per 2 oz., >Rosemary EO 30 drops and Lavender EO 30 drops, you can >suspend in distilled water for a spray, but you will >need to shake it well before spraying or you can >suspend in Jojoba or carrier oil of your choice and >put below your nose, also Oregano Oil is one of the >best. >Lynn
Guest guest
Thanks Lesley! I've heard of that product so will definately check it out. I'm told that the Emergen-c product is good to take before a trip as well. I'll have to compare ingredients. Guest guest
I used to use it at work and people seemed to like it. You are welcome. Guest guest
Margaret, I make about six round-trip flights a year between Moscow and LA - that's 13 non-stop hours each way! So I developed some little AT routine that helps me stay sane and healthy. Besides airplane bugs, you also have to think about keeping your skin moist and your spirits exactly where you want them. I've actually trained my 11 y.o. daughter so that she is the one responsible for packing all of our AT paraphernalia. Here is what we always take with us: Moisturizer, to be liberally applied all over the exposed skin, including face, neck and hands/arms; A few clean hanckies - for sniffing EOs; Lavender hydrosol in a spray bottle (!!!). That, along with moisturizer, does an awesome job keeping us refreshed. Essential oils: (i) eucaliptus (ii) rosemary, (iii) lavender, (iv) clary sage, and (v) grapefruit or orange, whichever works best to get you in a better mood. At the beginning of the flight I want to protect myself from the bugs, so I sniff rosemary or eucaliptus (and continue doing that a few times through the flight). To calm down I use lavender EO. To help me go to sleep after a meal I use clary sage, if I even need that - oftentimes lavender alone would do the job. After I wake up, usually all dry and drousy, I'd repeat the moisturizer+hydrosol routine and finish waking up with rosemary and my citrus oils. That usually gets me nicely alert and cheerful to deal with the US border patrol. And drink lots of water! Hope that helps. Have a fun honey moon! Guest guest
I am asking for help on behalf of a friend who is a holistic practitioner/counselor. She would like to incorporate some AT in sessions with a client who is working on sexual issues. Any suggestions?

I would suggest that she get Valerie Worwoods book " the Aromantics " ... it has been republished under a different name. Some EXCELLENT suggestions... blends for various sexual problems... often the blend chosen is based on the underlying emotion... I think your therapist friend would find it helpful.
