No blend .. neat. Okay, I can do that. I may need to get the rosemary, better go check my cabinet. I have your Origanum vulgare so that should fill the bill on that one. > >Odds are great we will catch a bug after being cooped up in recycled air >on an aircraft. I've not been on an airplane for as long as I'll be on this one so figured I'd better do something for myself and Hubby. I really don't want us getting any kind of yucky bug for this trip. ;) > >We'll be flying to the USA in late June and though my son will be less >than four months old then .. I imagine the lil guy won't object too much to the sniffin since he is of your lineage. > >With the Catnip .. I'll make this up in the F C oil and also I think a linen type spray for my clothes too. I hear there are LOTS of bugs especially mosquitos and sand fleas I think it was. I don't care to be bit by either! > >Have a good one .. on all counts .. and keep smiling. :-) > >Butch http://www.AV-AT.com Thanks Butch! Guest guest
Butch, Those skies sure can be " unfriendly " . I contracted TB on a flight. I was in first class, the infected person was in coach. To possibly prevent inhaling some " bad " bugs, it is helpful to coat your nostrils with a homemade salve using a base oil and beeswax. I add essential oils to mine. Tea tree and Eucalyptus make it similar to Vicks but without the petroleum! Bon Voyage! Guest guest
My one comment... Love the idea of coating the nostrils with the salve for two reasons... 1. It will last longer, it's right under your nose ALL the time 2. Less likely to kick off someone elses allergies if they have them and also less likely to be annoying to someone sitting next to you... Will have to remember the salve tip... And Getting TB, man, that not only sucks but is a right bugger. Sure hope you are well now. Guest guest
2. I don't diffuse many oils because of it -- he just can't handle the odors. He gets a bad headache, sometimes even vomits -- serious business for us. Susan H. Guest guest
I'll have to keep that in mind as well. I know I am personally very effected by synthetic perfumes and the like. I am so glad that I haven't been effected by essential oils at all in the same way. I just pray that people are sensitive to others and leave the perfume and cologne for another time. I'll probably make the salve and my personal lil bottle of oregano. I will save the spray combo for my hotel room. Margaret >=======My husband's really sensitive to smells.
