Guest guest
Hi All, My sister-in-law turned me onto a vitamin that helps me process sunlight in strong doses. We were at Cape Hatteras, NC in late May and she had me take PABA in pill form with all my meals along with regular application of sunblock 15 when we were going to the beach or deep sea fishing. For the first time in my life I didn't turn beet red. It was so great, I buy a bottle every year from GNC and take it with every meal on days I'm going to the beach or when I am doing yard work, etc. I think that some people might be allergic to it though. When I went to buy it last year, the girl at the check out counter told me she had never heard of it helping with processing sun, but she said it was good for controlling grey hairs. Go figure! Guest guest
PABA was first publicized as an anti-gray-hair vitamin because black animals lacking it became gray. Several women who had wanted children for years conceived after this vitamin was added to their diets. Other persons who had suffered from vitiligo or whose skin had become heavily pigmented in some spots and lacked pigment in other, developed normal skin color and the heavier spots of pigment faded. PABA if taken continually and in high doses will prevent one from burning at all. PABA, natural not the synthetic, can be added to cream and applied to the skin and has been known to protect up to 8 hours in Florida sun. A real godsend for persons that are susceptible to skin cancer. The synthetic kind has produced skin reactions.
