Hi All

 

I had not read my email for a couple of days I was on vacation. I

just wanted to thanks Butch and Jennifer for the responses to my

email about selling perfumes out of my home. Butch your description

of what it is like talking to people at the county clerks office was

right on. Nobody is ever really sure what the answer is. You hear a

different answer from everyone you talk to and they all swear they

are the ones that are right because the have been their longer. I

guess I will just put up my own website and sell from there. Since I

live in a residential area I am not putting a sign outside and using

my house as a " store front " technically. The home party idea sounds

interesting but I am afraid would not have the personality for it

(hehe) More of a introvert I guess.

Hi,

 

Chances are if you live in a residential area your area wouldn't be

zoned for putting a sign outside your door advertising. However,

that doesn't mean you couldn't have people come to your house as

long as it doesn't look like you're pushing drugs. LOL. We have a

home recording studio so we have musicians coming and going

constantly, but not to the point where any neighbors would complain -

heck, some of our clients are our neighbors.

 

The home party is a great idea and even if you think you don't have

the personality for it, find a friend or someone who is in the same

vein of business as you and you could put one on together, if they

have more of a people personality, they can sort of help you along.

I did a home party with a lady who sold candles and I did psychic

readings - she liked having me along to make the night sort of

interesting and she in turn brought me some business, so it worked

out for both of us.

 

I just met a lady who makes jewelry and she asked me if I would be

interested in doing some home parties with her.

 

Another way to sell your product is beauty shops. I know a lot of

people who package up some product and hop into the beauty shops and

sell directly to the customers. My mom has bought everything from

clothes to meat from people coming into the beauty shop.
