Guest guest
Over on Anya's uber fantabulous Natural Perfumery group the gal from zzspetals http://www.zzspetals.com/ posted a recipe for an Amber starter that uses Vanilla Beans. Its basically 8 oz Jojoba with 2 Vanilla Beans scraped and chopped into it, 2 & 1/2 ml Benzoin and 1 & 1/4 ml Labdanum. She put a few other pointers out there but you'll have to go and join Anya's list to see the original post to get the details Anyway .. I played around with her basic ideas there, made it my own, and I now have a bottle of the nicest darn batch of amber oil accord aging! Actually 2 bottles as I did one in 190 proof alcohol too. I'm going to use it in incense, soap, perfumes for the body and home .. but it does have those known sensitizers, so its important folks dilute the heck out of it and/or makes items geared towards being wash off or not used on skin. Personally for perfumes, I'm sold on the perfume jewelry thing! I love it! I spray my pendant and go, smelling like a .. well .. whatever it is I want to smell like that day! But I also need not worry about wearing a scent with sensitizing ingredients that way! http://www.alittleolfactory.com/jewelry.htm *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com

Guest guest
Hey folks, I was just poking around in my workroom and came across the bottles of Vanilla Amber Starter I began back in the beginning of May. Well of course I had to open them up and give a sniff {grinz}. Wow! They are getting so very nice now that they've had time to really age! Interesting to note also how in the Alcohol version the Vanilla scent is a lot more pronounced than in the Jojoba version. *Smile* Chris http://www.alittleolfactory.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ On Behalf Of Christine Ziegler Wednesday, May 03, 2006 4:00 PM Vanilla Amber Starter - Another Way To Use Vanilla Beans Over on Anya's uber fantabulous Natural Perfumery group the gal from zzspetals http://www.zzspetals.com/ posted a recipe for an Amber starter that uses Vanilla Beans.
