Does anyone here have much experience with Skype.com? It's an online chat

application by which you can apparently make free phone calls to anywhere.

I just got it (like, 10 minutes ago), and I see that you can add people

to an existing chat. Maybe this might work for the group chats?

Karen,

Skype is great! You can conference call with I believe 4-5 people, use as a

video phone and transfer files. My husband and I use it when he goes on

business trips so we don't rack phone bills. He also uses it daily to chat

with friends who are spread across the country and to family in Korea. I

definitely think it's worth downloading.

***Skype is great!***

We love Skype...most of my family has it and uses it. We have used it for

the better part of two and a half years. It has never caused any computer

problems and my computer had to be worked on recently due to a program my

son had downloaded and when they did their diagnostic sweep the tech

verified that there was no spyware attached to Skype that he could find.

Skype is a free software Internet phone program, not needing any additional

equipment or routers, to anyone in the world with a computer....you can use

the free program computer to computer as long as both computers have Skype

software downloaded. Germany, England, Norway, China France Canada, U.S...it

does not matter.

Most of my family uses the free version. NOW...Skype does have a corporate

and business version that you as an individual can also pay for, and you

have to pay to call even your next door neighbors' land line but to call

from your computer to my computer is free....my family and friends have just

downloaded it and asked our family and friends who have computers and live

long distance and even overseas (my cousin Clifton and my childhood friend

Freida are stationed over seas...one in Norway and one in Germany) to just

download it onto their computer and we can talk to them anywhere in the

world with crystal clear clarity like a great phone...AND now with Video

feed so we can use our web cams and see each other. It is not garbled up

like Msn Messenger can be, or or Google chat programs...we had a lot

of feed back at times and lag time and what not...I am telling you Isis...I

can't rave about this program enough after two and a half years...you might

could increase your customer base using it for your Internet sales...and it

is FREE!!!!!

You are using your computer and your computer mic and your computer speaker

as a phone. Skype is a software program that was created and based out of a

European country (Luxembourg, I think) for an affordable and high quality

Trans-global business alternative to phone servi! Ce, and for individual use

it is just simply free...we love it.

I leave my speakers up, and can hear any of my family call me because my

Skype " RINGS " like a real telephone to let me know one of them want to talk

To me...then I go to my computer, answer it by pushing a button, and begin

to talk....I feel like I am living a Star Trek kind of life...my computer

hails me " to let me know someone has a " communique for me " !

Go to http://www.skype.com/helloagain.html and click the download button on

the left side of the screen towards the middle of the screen...Follow the

directions...it is easy, conv! Enient, and FUN! They let you personalize

your ring tones kind of like a cell phone and there are a lot to choose from

Try it!!!!

(((HUGS))) Blessings, laughter and health to you and yours~Gloria in

Tennessee...a happy grandmother-to-be:)
