Guest guest
Hi Donna, > Thanks Chris...no worries! > Well, my problem could be that I was saving the water from cleaning out the pot after making soap...sounds like you're talking about saving the " scraps " & > adding them to some water...maybe the difference being that you have more soap than water...where I had more water than soap...the eo's could probably help > too. Yes, there is a BIG difference. If you CP the soap, don't really even bother saving the residue from the pot, as all it will be is lye heavy oily water *lol* If you HP, by all means, use that water! A lot of times I'll put enough water in the pot to clean it and then use the water to quickly clean the floor or the toilet! > I'm going to get me a jar & add my scraps to it & a little water & see what happens!!! If nothing else it will be an interesting experiment!!! lol Putting the shavings in water and playing around with that is a fun experiment. Little kids like it too cause it turns to snot ;-p That is why we use KOH lye instead of NaOH lye for making liquid soaps. The NaOH we use to make bar soaps makes a different chemical chain that gets snotty and slimy when put into water (think gooey soap that wasn't on a soap holder). > Thanks!!! > donna > www.somethingdifferentsoap.com > www.prairie-craft.com coming soon! *Smile* Chris (list mom) The Recipes Section Is Now Up & Running <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
Hi Chris...this is what I do (HP)...never thought about saving the water to do a quick clean up for the floor!!! It always has soap " scraps " scattered around & always needs mopping!!! lol heck...I could probably just use a wet mop!! There is enough soap on the floor to not need any added!!! lol have a good evening!!! donna - Christine Ziegler If you HP, by all means, use that water!
