Hi Sharon,

> Is it possible to buy 20 ml or 15 ml? You know the regular bottles

> that hold say Oregano. sharon also how much would that be???

Yes .. the smaller bottles of Rose Otto and Rose Absolute are on my

Retail Site at http://www.av-at.com/prices.html .. bottom of the page.

However, 15 or 20 ml of Rose Otto is a lot of Rose Otto .. it goes a

looooooong way .. such a size is too large for an end user. The sale I

offered in 25 gram to 100 grams sizes is primarily for those who sell

oils. They purchase and then rebottle in 1, 3, 5 ml and such.

Grams are a weight measure .. milliliters are a volume measure.

An Avoir (weight) ounce is 28.35 grams

An Fluid (volume) ounce is 29.573 milliliters

25 grams works out to like 26 + milliliters.

On Weight vs Volume:

If we fill a 10 Fluid Ounce bottle with Pure Water or Molten Lead the

two will occupy the exact same space.

But if we then weigh that 10 Fluid Ounce bottle .. we will find:

1. The Pure Water will weigh EXACTLY 10 grams .. the reason for this is

that Pure Water has been designated as the standard for volume to weight

conversion .. it has been assigned a Factor of " 1 " .. any other liquid

will have a plus (+) or minus (-) " 1 " .. based on the density of the

liquid. Even Sea Water will be a plus " 1 " because its more dense.

2. The Molten Lead will occupy EXACTLY the same space as the Pure Water

but it might weigh 25 times more .. don't have time now to look up the

actual ratio. ;-)

Anyway .. this is a simple explanation of Weight vs Volume.

I will point out that all distilled Essential Oils are .. to the best of

my knowledge .. lighter than Pure Water .. so when you purchase by

weight and then use a complicated formula (involving density and a few

other off the wall factors) you will get more milliliters per gram than

you would if you purchased the same volume of Pure Water.

And we get into the same confusion when we deal with Liters. We use a

lot of Early Harvest Extra-Virgin Olive Oil in my home .. we purchase it

in 5 Liter containers. On the side of that container is shows the

weight vs volume .. it writes " 5 Liters Volume .. 4,550 grams Weight. "

If that same Olive Oil were sold by weight only .. then it would read,

" 5 Kilograms (5,000 grams) Net Weight. "

If the above is confusing don't let it worry you .. just use ball park

accounting and accept that for Essential Oils there are more milliliters

in an ounce than there are grams .. and its a system that is not going

to change .. so we have to get used to it. ;-)

All oils on the international market are sold by weight .. in kilos and

grams .. its only in the domestic market that we sell by volume. For

sure there will be someone say .. " I bought in liters once. " And for

sure there are folks selling in liters .. but its NEVER done that way in

the large international market arena.

I sell Rose Otto wholesale by weight because its packaged by the

distillers in cans that are by weight .. in grams.

Finally, Sharon .. a short answer to your question. If you want a

bottle of Rose Otto just for sniffing a few times a day .. get the 1

gram size .. I keep a 1 gram bottle in my pocket at all times .. for at

least the last 12 + years if I got my britches on .. there is a bottle

at hand. ;-) And that 1 gram bottle lasts me at least 6 months.

Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
