Guest guest
Thanks Chris and Zonella! I've been stumped about this for a while. I'd like to use something all natural but I can't see using a cream with a borax/beeswax combo on the hair (borax is irritating for me anyway). A lot of people promote different oils and butters for moisturizing but I'm under the impression that oils don't moisturize. Am I wrong? I thought there had to be a water component in there. Would a hair cream be very similar to one for skin? My hair is so curly that it makes long, crooked spirals. Not kinky but there were a few times when I was a child that a comb died an untimely death as it tried to struggle through crop--LOL. Extremely thick, too. The oils and butters would soften my hair but I didn't like the slightly greasy feel that it left behind. It also made my hair very sticky. Adjusting the amounts still gave a 'did nothing' to 'too much' effect. I've tried some different stuff and it did a good job at 'taming'. However, these folks know their stuff works and seeing how many curly heads are in search of the holy grail, the makers know they will bring gold to the promised land--expensive!!! I'd like to do it myself. There's even a few moms who have formulated products for their daughters and now sell them. I wonder how they did it. I heard someone mention ginger extract a long time ago. Anyone know anything about that? Also, is there any way that I could 'jellify' or firm up jojoba so that it can be applied easier?
