[Dave:] I've been reading regularly about plans to both tax and restrict the internet. In some ways I'm surprised it hasn't happened yet. It's such a level playing field worldwide, it's just antithetical to modern governance. But then, I think making soap is a subversive activity. It's in harmony with nature, done for the good of others, and not done for wealth. What could be more be more subversive than that? > If it appears that I might be sorta negative toward the EU, its probably > because its true. The original intent was great .. but I (like many > Europeans) think they have now created a monster and are having a > tough time controlling it .. or even feeding it. [Dave:] The only explanation I can think of for our own government's refusal to control our borders is, there's a plan afoot to create a North American Union to correspond to Europe. Personally I think it's a dumb idea. But inevitably, we are moving toward a world community. It started with the tribe, then the village, then the kingdom, then the empire. It's the logical outcome, and it could be good or it could be awful. They'll exhaust the awful possibilities first, and if anyone's left alive after that, they will have nothing left but the good. World peace is inevitable, folks, even if it's the peace of a dead planet. -- Version: 7.1.394 / Virus Database: 268.7.2/349 - Release 5/26/2006
