Guest guest
Hi! I usually don't post much about any personal problems I have going on, but I need some advice! My 5 yr old has JRA and Anklosing Spondylitis. Does anyone know if she is too young to use a cream made with MSM on? She's currently going through a " flare " on her knee and the pain meds and anti-inflammatories don't seem to be helping this time. (( I have a balm that I made for my husband that has menthol, black pepper EO and emu oil in it, but again, don't know if maybe she's too young for that either. The rheumatologist told me not to put Icey-Hot or anything like that on her because it's not the heat that she needs, it's the cold to help bring the swelling down and " freeze " the pain a bit. The heat will only aggravate it. She's been using her " woobey " and her gel pack, but...has any one ever tried to keep a 5 yr old still for 20 mins at a time?!?! IT DOESN'T WORK!!! Does anyone have any suggestions that I could try out? Thanks so much! huggs, Michelle

I use it and I also take it orally. It really helps. She might also try glucosamine and chondroitin – sorry, but I am not the person to ask about juvenile doses. Also, believe it or not, antioxidant therapy may prove very useful. You can’t overdose on antioxidants, so try giving her grapeseed extract spiked with natural vitamin C and E. Antioxidants have a very broad-spectrum healing effect, and JRA just may respond. At her age, given the right tools, her body may be able to do an admirable job of healing and repairing itself Thanks Dave!! )) Michelle
Guest guest
Hi There, I am a massage therapist for the US Naval Academy. When all else fails and the stretching, massaging and relaxing don't cut it, I rub on a product called Biofreeze. I think you can do a search and find some over the internet. If you want to try a sample I can probably mail you a little packet before you decide to purchase it somewhere. Ask your Dr. is he/she has ever heard of it and if they would recommend it for your child. Take care & I hope you find her some relief!
