Guest guest
Over the past week I've seen several recommendations or non-recommendations of eo books. I would be interested in what books you would recommend to learn more about using herbs for health? There are so many out there, it's hard to know what to choose and what to put back on the shelf. Thanks, Ginger
Guest guest
A Modern Herbal by Mrs Grieve, still the finest book on the subject. written in the 1920s by a lady who grew and sold herbs as well as running an International school training pharmaceutical trade people and horticulturists. One of the few I have much respect for. Incidentally she died pennyless like I probably will cos of all the people who want information for nothing! No I don't mean you Ginger. I mean those who want references to scientific papers because they are too lazy or tight fisted to do the work themselves. Guest guest
Yesterday I received my copy of The Aromatherapy Practitioner Reference Manual, to which Martin contributed his experience and learning. It's incredibly detailed. The authors go to great lengths to include a wide range of source material and to provide context for which sources are more or less substantiated. This is an astonishingly rich document, and I can see that it will bear many, many hours of reading and reflection. I already own the CD of Martin's monographs on individual oils and the Aromatherapy Safety Manual (not sure if that is the exact title). All of these are available from Butch's company.
