Guest guest
Hi, My name is Lynn, and I've been lurking out there for about a month now. I wanted to get a feeling from the group before introducing myself. I've found you guys to be very informative, and quite lively! I am a nurse by profession, specialty Emergency and Trauma medicine. I am currently working as a high school nurse so I can enjoy participating in my children's growth and development. For any of you out there who have spent any time in Hospital based health care, your time isn't your own and you miss out on all the precious gifts of childhood. I have always been interested in complementary medicine, which has led to my interests in oils and herbs. Now I have some time to explore same. I grew up in an educator/science based family, so I view just about everything, (But Sponge Bob) using the Scientific Method. If you can't prove it, it probably isn't so. I wanted to say thank you to Butch, who I think has provided a fine lay persons explanation of the great debate on skin absorption. My only comment to the whole debate is that EO's are composed of many different chemicals, all of which need to be evaluated for safety, (And as Butch put it, chemists aint gonna do it if it aint gonna make em money). Any alteration of an original changes it's chemical components, ie the flower/plant, isn't the oil. with that understanding, and access to research based information, you can proceed with caution. Martin your information is also great....just sometimes for folks who aren't used to reading scientific information, possibly a challenge. I enjoy them and have referenced your information myself. On this note I will say thanks for letting me join, and look forward to reading, and occasionally putting my 2 cents forward Thanks, Lynn
