Guest guest
So that would mean that olive oil (or any other vegetable oil) is not natural, because you don't get olive oil from an olive tree. You get an olive, and that has to be manufactured into oil...Donna , " Lynette Manteau " <terralyn27 wrote: > > " Would someone please explain this? Guest guest
Naah - the oils are certainly processed - but you do get olive oil from olives - as you get coconut oil from coconuts, etc. You could probably press the oil from an olive yourself. It is natural. Namaste, Lynette of Terralyn - Bath, Body, Spirit Reading Terminal Market Philadelphia, PA terralyn27
Guest guest
The point is simply that different people define " natural " differently. To say you make an all " natural " soap doesn't really mean anything. Not all " natural " ingredients are desirable or necessarily good for you. Not all refined, processed or altered ingredients are bad for you. Unless you're using wood ash to make an old fashioned lye solution (which could prove to be dangerously inconsistent in strength), the lye, that is used to make soap isn't exactly all natural - its a purified chemical that comes in white flake or powder form a.k.a. " caustic soda " . Also, if a soap is made with ingredients like artificial colors and synthetic fragrances then one would hope the manufacturer wouldn't represent it as an all natural product. Depending on what else is in it, it very well may be more accurately a " mostly natural " product. And there ya have my little two cents on it <grinz> Have a happy safe Independence Day folks!!! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
