Hey folks,

It was less than a month ago that I made a post about the heat wave we

were having across the US and reminding folks about taking care in the

hot weather. Well, once again the heat is on, and now some areas of the

country are having heat WAY hotter than they are accustomed to (and in

places where A/C isn't as prevalent as it is here in normally Hades Hot

SE TX).

So I repost this from then, as it is just as timely now ....

.... take it easy in the heat, stay hydrated and stay out of the direct

sun as much as possible, especially between the hours of 10AM and 4PM,

when the sun is most intense.

If you feel compelled to work out, do it early in the morning, in the

pool or indoors!

A cool wet rag or towel draped over the back of the neck can actually

keep your body temperature cooler, keep you more comfortable and help

prevent heat stroke!!!

Drink plenty of fluids - but stay away from alcohol and caffeine, as

those are diuretics an will only end up dehydrating you. If you feel

that you must indulge in those sort of beverages, be sure to alternate

and drink a full cup of water in between each serving of another type of

beverage.

Basically I'm reminding everyone to use their common sense, take it easy

and take care!

*Smile*

Chris (list mom, in SE TX - hiding in my A/C until - oh - about January

;)
