Guest guest
Are these two woods the same thing? Was doing a search this morning and was looking into aloeswood. Most sites refer to this as sandalwood(Santalum album), and thought ok, I have that...but then came across another site that states that aloeswood is a different wood(aquilaria agallocha). That it is similar but greener and sweeter. Can anyone out there help with this? Anita
Guest guest
Aloes wood is a very rare and expensive wood. It's been a while, but I remember something about the part used for incense being the wood that is near the root, and that it is partly petrified. It is not sandalwood. For an excellent article on Agarwood go to: http://www.enfleurage.com/articles.html For more on Sandalwood read the articles on conservation on my web site below plus the links to other sites with good information.
