Guest guest Posted August 16, 2006 Report Share Posted August 16, 2006 I figured I'd post one of my favorite Virgin Coconut Oil food recipes! *Smile* Chris (list mom) Natural Awapuhi Extract, Unrefined Rose Hip Seed Oil Traditional Pressed Certified Organic Virgin Coconut Oil Pre-Buy Special - LAST WEEK TO ORDER! http://www.alittleolfactory.com/prebuys.htm Coconut Prawns 1 lb shelled, deveined and flattened prawns 1 can coconut milk 1 cup plain breadcrumbs (or Japanese style breadcrumbs - Panko) 1 cup shredded coconut (Not the sweetened kind used for baking) 1 heaping Tbsp flour 2 Tbsp finely ground macadamia nuts (optional) Pinch Hawaiian 'Alea Red Sea Salt - fine Pinch black or white pepper 2 eggs Organic Virgin Coconut Oil for deep frying Place coconut milk in a bowl and marinate shrimp in milk for several hours. Blend breadcrumbs, coconut, flour, nuts, salt and pepper in a bowl. Beat eggs in a separate bowl. Dip prawns in the egg to coat, then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture. Heat virgin coconut oil to hot and fry a few pieces of shrimp at a time until golden. Drain on paper towels. Serve with a lime ginger mayonnaise dip.
