Carol, I cannot officially say that ChocaMaca is safe for diabetics, since that would be making a medical claim. It does have some organic sweetener (Whole cane juice) in it. It is also very dark, all-organic and loaded with good-for-you superfoods and herbs. Take a look at it at the website. If you think he might be interested I would be happy to send a few precious balls as a sample. http://wildhealing.net This is the only chocolate I am addicted to. Wait, if we had a Trader Joe here I could quite get into those heavenly mocca bars... I forgot to place and ad yesterday so I guess this was my weekly brag, lol. Guest guest
We've tried several, but the ones that are artificially sweetened can cause horrible diarrhea if you eat too many. We stick to the 60% or more cocoa dark chocolate with less sugar. My son is type 1 diabetic and realistically, a diabetic who takes insulin can eat anything " normal " , just not in excess. We try to avoid artifical sweeteners. Leann - Ieneke van Houten Friday, September 01, 2006 6:55 PM Chocolate for diabetics (was O/T But too good to pass up.. Free chocolate... Guest guest
Hi All, My husband was just diagnosed with diabetes 4 1/2 weeks ago and we went to some intensive training sessions. I learned what you have to watch is the carbohydrates, so you just have to eat small servings if you can without going insane. A friend of mine who loves chocolate but is watching her sugar intake makes hot coco with milk but no sugar. Also, a company called Miss Meringue makes artificially sweetened chocolate meringues which are pretty good. Hope this was of some help.
