Guest guest
Yo Anya, >>Hey Anya, >> >>Didn't I read on your Perfumery List that you are moving from >>Florida to Texas? > > Yep, Austin, the fun capital of Texas - hill country, lakes, fun > people. Yep .. it has all that fer'shur. For folks who want the city life it is a good choice .. its sorta a small city with a twist. ;-) I like Texas a lot .. was stationed in El Paso twice. I honor the history of Texas .. and those who settled it. I have friends there now who are descendants of those hardy folks. I want to avoid the things that are common in cities of that size .. like traffic .. and crime. Avoiding crime is becoming more difficult each year .. matters not where one lives .. but if one considers demographics they can make it a bit easier .. still, no guarantees. Wanna check out the facts on Austin .. go here. http://www.city-data.com/city/Austin-Texas.html > Carrie of Scent Garden is there, Chris is a little holler away > as is another friend in Houston, other buddy in San Antonio, and > lots of herbalists in the area I can't wait to meet, writing to > some of them already. Good it is .. and I'm sure you will be happier in Austin than you are living in Florida. I have a lot on the Indian River in Port Malibar, FL, but I've never considered living there. Bought it in 1974 and then registered to vote in FL .. simply to avoid state taxes. I was rarely in the USA and saw no need to pay taxes to a state that was providing me no services. I've not lived in the USA since retirement from the Army but I'll have to change my domicile when I return next year. > With all going on in my life, I can't move fast enough, so I have > to take my time and take care of business here, darn. I wish I was > there already! I hear you. I'm on a similar single track now. All I do now is in preparation to leave here. I've collected enough Turkish goods over the years .. have literally tons of things in storage in Clarksville, TN. At this point, we're buying nothing that can't be consumed. I'm still researching locations in the USA but have definite plans to leave here. > Anya > http://anyasgarden.com/perfumes.htm Parfums Natural > http://artisannaturalperfumers.com The Artisan Natural Perfumers Guild > http://naturalperfumery.com The Premier Natural Perfume Site Gateway Wishing you luck, health and happiness in your new home. Y'all have a good one .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com PS: Native Texacans on the list can provide good recipes for Armadillo. Contrary to the opinion of many folks .. they are not born dead on the side of the road. Neither are the possums we see all over the SE USA. Truth is .. they are a lot like the Schmoos back in Lil' Abner's time .. they like to commit suicide. Some of y'all will remember Abner and Daisy Mae, Mammy and Pappy Yokum, Moonbeam McSwine, etc. ;-)
