Guest guest
Does anyone know anybody that can help me? I love having a website... I hate updating it. I understand some of it, but OMG! Can you say patience is a virtue I don't have... Not only that, If I'm doing it in HMTL... Which is the only thing I really get the hang of right now.. I have to be very careful. Unfortunately doing as many things as I do... I rarely make the time to update my website because well it's so darn cumbersome. Anyway if anyone knows of a simple inexpensive program (ha yeah right, I'm dreaming ain't I) that I can use, or try or what ever to either create, or recreate my website please let me know. Guest guest
Jennifer, I use a program called net objects. Priced at $150 I have found it to be a user friendly easy to learn program. Guest guest
Hi Jennifer! Kudos for dealing with html-code pure! ;-) Tried that too, but found there are easier ways. I know, there's a lot of antipathy to Microsoft, but I think the " Frontpage 2003 " is a good, sensible and quite easy WYSIWIG editor (like Word, but I wouldn't use that for websites!!), where you can also do the html code in the same window. It's auctioned at eBay for around $70-90 right now - a lot cheaper than when I bought it ;-) I really like it that you can look into the code, exactly where there's a problem with the wysiwig display. I don't use the uploading feature though, no experience with that, FTP just comes in handy - and faster - for me. I build and manage all my websites with FP 2003 now (see www.aeshnadesign.com), and those of my hubby too (University math classes...). And to second blackfox: let me know if you need any help. * * * * Barbara On 9/13/06, Jennifer <pixieladie wrote: > > Does anyone know anybody that can help me? I love having a website... I design websites as part of our business and I love Front Page 2003....much better than previous editions and can do anything the other more expensive programs can do with little training...if you can use Word, you can use FP. And it can be very inexpensive....here's a link to various pricing and if you're a student (of a state-approved institution or a teacher Microsoft gives you a substantial discount ($70 at costcaptain.com) _http://www.nextag.com/Microsoft-Office-FrontPage-2003-57742620/prices-html_ (http://www.nextag.com/Microsoft-Office-FrontPage-2003-57742620/prices-html) Maureen The Herb Growing & Marketing Network PO Box 245, Silver Spring, PA 17575 717-393-3295; FAX: 717-393-9261 herbworld.com and herbnet.com

Having never had any training in this, it’s like learning Schubert without being able to read music. You may learn a piece note-by-note, and even get pretty good at it, but it’ll be the only piece you can play without starting over, note-by-note. That’s how I feel writing html...nevermind php! And I HAD to use frames on my home page, so it only took me two months to get the links working like I want. Thanks for the suggestions! I’m going to check out coffeecup. -- Version: 7.1.405 / Virus Database: 268.12.4/448 - Release 9/14/2006 -- Version: 7.1.405 / Virus Database: 268.12.4/448 - Release 9/14/2006
