Guest guest
Another old one .. but to me it points to a need for some oversight to improve the quality of medical treatment in the USA. When patients die as a result of malpractice by a doctor .. the doctor is forgiven and continues to practice. Mistakes by folks in many other fields (not even related to health care) usually result in them being fired .. and in some fields it also means the end of the line for them professionally. . __,[Anita R] Re: medical errors. My DH was in the hospital nearly 10 years ago with angina. In the middle of the night the nurse came in to give him an injection. THANK GOD he was awake enough to ask what it was. She said " it's your insulin " . He isn't a diabetic, and told her to check the chart..she argued with him, but he kept insisting...sure nuff it was for his roommate! To think what might have happened is really unthinkable! _._,___
