Guest guest
Hi all - I realize we are grasping at straws here but when you are desperate you do desperate things!! ;-) My hubby, Steve, had a cornea transplant 6 years ago. It began to reject weeks ago and in spite of mega steroids continues on a downhill slide. He could only see the big E on the eye chart . . . WITH his glasses. The other eye is declining too and he faces yet another cornea transplant. I am wondering if anyone has a recommendation for any supplement, etc., to help maintain good eye health. He has also had two detached retinas and glaucoma. The Dr. thinks it is genetic but we know of no one in his family with such poor eye health. I am wondering if his body either does not metabolize something properly or he is just plain is not getting enough of a vitamin, mineral, etc. Your insight is most appreciated. -Helen Steven Allensworth worth249 EarthLink Revolves Around You. Guest guest
Helen Give him caplets of BILBERRY FRUIT here is some info on it, if you need more info let me know. Bilberry is the world's most famous herb for supporting healthy vision. World War II fighter pilots are said to have been given Bilberry jam prior to flying in low-light conditions. A natural pigment in Bilberry Fruit contains potent, eye-friendly antioxidants called anthocyanidins. They protect delicate eye tissues while other nutrients nourish the parts of your eye necessary for clear vision & light adjustment Steven Allensworth <worth249 wrote: Hi all - I realize we are grasping at straws here but when you are desperate you do desperate things!! ;-) My hubby, Steve, had a cornea transplant 6 years ago. Now, whether they benefit the physical condition of the eyes, I don’t know...it’s a place to start. I hope your husband gets on top of this. -- Version: 7.1.405 / Virus Database: 268.12.4/449 - Release 9/15/2006 -- Version: 7.1.405 / Virus Database: 268.12.4/449 - Release 9/15/2006
Guest guest
Thanks ever so much for the responses . . . we just returned from the Dr. and the rejection is absolute. At this point, not much short of a miracle is going to help this eye. The other is headed south too but by gosh or by golly we are going to give the herbal treatments a try. I am heading to a local herbal shop today and am taking my notes with your suggestions. Thanks again. -Helen Helen Give him caplets of BILBERRY FRUIT here is some info on it, if you need more info let me know. Bilberry is the world's most famous herb for supporting healthy vision.
