Guest guest
Hi Kristena, > Thank you Butch for the details on this immigration/illegal issue. > I agree on so many aspects. Welcome fer'shur .. and there is certainly much to agree or disagree with. Mainly, it depends on how we want to look at the entire issue .. if we approach it as nationalists .. or as capitalist bosses .. or as liberals .. we can draw different conclusions from the same data. > People have so much value...sometimes I am frustrated with the fact > that Mexicans are treated as low wage workers, even though they are > so happy to have work. They are still people with families, etc.... > coming from a bad situation quite often. True it is .. but its all relative to variables that are beyond our control. Folks have little choice as to where they are born .. and ideally, the world should be without pain and suffering and poverty .. and all governments should be concerned with the welfare of their citizens, etc. Unfortunately, reality precludes all the above from happening. Marx and Lenin had such dreams .. but practice was a horse of a different color. Utopia is still beyond the reach of mankind. > Then on the other hand, my husband and I are both self employed and > pay taxes and have to also hustle up our own work often times. The > low wage laborers has caused some trouble for my husband. He is a > carpenter and sometimes he gets well underbid even though his skill > is over 30 years old. Understood. And when the issue is close to home .. its danged hard to take an idealistic or globalistic view of the results. I guess its tough to draw a line between free enterprise and the welfare of the public without getting into socialism .. which unto itself has bogey bears hidden throughout the system. > Then there is the tax issues since we, in Arkansas, have many illegals. > Yet their children are getting medical care at the doctors and the families > are over running our neighborhoods. I am glad they can have affordable > housing and medical care, but I am sad that we that were born here have > to pay for that while we are losing our own work because we get underbid. There are certainly many rational complaints that are not getting attention from the US Gummit. Gummit decisions are almost always made based on the percentage of voters who want it this or that way .. but in this case, polls show that an enormous percentage of American citizens want something that the Gummit is disregarding. This probably means that the Gummit is paying more attention to the Corporate Czars than to the citizens .. or .. maybe they are seeking to recruit another group of followers after they make them legit. Who is the majority today might become the minority tomorrow. Assimilation is an ongoing thing in the USA and in almost all cases, in time Americans will settle down with pretty much the same mindset .. but it rarely happens in the first generation .. its a slow process. This is something that some European countries are paying a lot of attention to now. They are wondering IF .. and WHEN .. some of their newer citizens will become nice little " Europeans " and march to the tune of the EU drum. A good example is the Gasterbeiter (guest worker) Turk that the Germans begged to get for generations now .. and Paris and London have different but in some ways, similar problems now. I expect it won't be long before Americans will wake up and see that what the EU is concerned about now is something we should maybe pay a bit of attention to. Borders are like fences .. they do much to ensure good relations between neighbors. > I dont know what the answers are, but I am glad to hear how things > went for you and that it will all work out. Thank you ma'am .. and I too don't know the answers. Tough problems sometimes demand tough solutions. A place to start might be .. do we want to demand folks abide by current laws .. or do we want to change current laws to be in line with the wishes of the number of people who violate them and protest them. > Your wife is so beautiful as well. You must be so proud. Thankee ma'am .. and proud I am fer'shur .. lucky I am too. :-) > Blessings > -Love and Light- > Ray and Kristena Roder > http://www.dreamseeds.org And to you and yours .. y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
