Rose Hydrosol Update

As most folks here know .. Rose Hydrosol has been out of stock for some

but ....

My shipment of 400 kilos of Rose Hydrosol left Turkey on Monday .. today

Margaret will deal with Customs at BWI and get the processing started.

As for the price this year .. I know what we have paid for the product

and shipping to BWI Airport. Now we will add in whatever duties we pay

and the cost of ground shipping to Friendsville. Then I'll be able to

determine the cost.

In years past (until last year) I purchased 2, 3 and even 4 metric tons

of Rose Hydrosol .. but that was before it became a hot item with

Turkish ladies and was being sold in all the fancy shops here.

Last year I was able to get NO Rose Hydrosol .. this year I pushed the

Rose Growers Association to sell me some .. and they agreed to sell me

400 kilos .. they are not selling Rose Hydrosol to anyone else outside

of Turkey .. what I am not getting is being bottled and sold in their

shops in Turkey. But the Board of Directors (some are politicians) made

a decision on the price .. its close to 200% more than I paid 2 years

ago. So .. the price of Rose Hydrosol is going to be higher.

Actually .. the price of Bulgarian is going to be much higher this year

too .. if one finds a Rose Hydrosol (Turkish or Bulgarian) for less than

$80 or a gallon so this year .. it will be one that has either been

adulterated with distilled water .. or has been triple distilled in

order to remove all the Rose Otto .. meaning .. its useless.
