And they need to dig to find the facts .. not just listen to the spin doctors of this or that party. As for shenanigans going on in Congress .. that's sorta universal. There are inherent problems to giving folks power.>> And he is darn right on that. As much as I like to blame all on Dubya , this one he is only guilty of coming up with a stupid idea on... I now live on $1.200,- a month on Soc. Sec., hit the donut hole with medicare early, which means all meds cost now total retail prize, which means for the next 3 months I will have $ 300.- a month to live on. Without a healthy savings account out of my own initiative, I would be in real bad shape. Cost of living makes it so hard for people to take that initiative to save and over 60 % of my friends lost their savings in their IRA during the crash a few years ago. We need a savings system for retirement that is free of shysters, free of manipulators, free of taxes besides what the government cooks up for us. Medicare is something that is much more urgent to be revamped. The new system of prescription D is a unbelievable stupid and with the sky rocket price of meds a pitfall for Elders. In some respects I am lucky, I live in a very small town with a thriving Senior Center, they provide th emeals on wheels and for $3.00 daily you get a real decent meal, fresh veggies galore, fresh fruit, frsh salads, homemade bread, it could not get any better in almost any restaurant we have. But there I do see the Seniors who absolutely can't afford their meds, see the health nurse who comes to check on them, just sadly shaking their heads, not knowing what to do. One has to be 'with it' to hassle for some of it, like knowing the Doc's that have big cupboards of samples, etc. etc. Voting is imperative , BUT, if we want to keep our government honest a revolution has to take place first from the top down this time, no lobbyist, no big government special favors, special interest groups wielding huge power. Our forefathers did not envision those things and they are the rot in this country right now, besides the billions spend on wars we had no business to be in , which has made the war on terror only worst and has seriously endangered our constitution . Having a few more strong parties representing us in Congress might also help, to truly represent the people. I figured I can live for about 5 more years, than I seriously have to sell all assets. Just my few cents for today. C-M
