Guest guest
Hi, all of you who are battling rodents like I am... I wanted to relate that I followed the suggestion to put candy (actually, trail mix) in the centers of the glue traps and placed them outside around the trash cans and the entrance to the garage. Nothing happened the first night, but by this morning two of them had paid off. I'm not sure what I caught. They're definitely not full-grown rats, and they're not typical mice, and they're not kangaroo rats (thank goodness, since those are federally protected), so I'm thinking they're juvenile rats--larger than mice, dark gray, big heads, babyish features, fuzzy fur rather than sleek. I felt very sorry for their suffering in the traps. After all, they're just fulfilling the measure of their creation, so to speak; they can't help being rodents and acting rodent-like. But I am glad to have that many fewer rats. They have destroyed many items that were stored in the garage. They had managed to steal bait from the snap traps without setting them off, but they didn't evade the glue boards. The candy is key. Those glue boards are supposed to be attractive to rodents just on their own but I've had them laid out both in the house and outside for two weeks with no luck until adding special incentives. So, thanks for the tip! jaime,CA
