The only vacines were for the " biggies " like smallpox and polio. It does strike me that kids are more fragile these days. Some of that I think is a result of all the " anti-bacterial " stuff that we use. Kids are even required to take little bottles of that stuff to school. They do not build strong immune systems. It's a little like what happens to Americans when we travel to other countries, and find ourselves spending a lot of time in the bathroom. No immunity to the common germs. On the other hand, I have know kids that suffered terribly from constant ear infections, so much so that it is more than a mere nuisance. And the bottom line is that use of anti-biotics and such has produced " super bugs " . Drug resistant bacteria and viruses. So we created them and it has put us on the path of coming up with bigger and better defenses. So yeah, we are headed for some pandemics.
