Guest guest
Hey folks, I was making up some goodies today, some of which included my Vanilla infused VCO .. and OH MY GOSH - it smells so yummy ... everyone should have something so nice to sniff at any time! I had to share this again for that reason .... *Smile* Chris (list mom) <http://www.alittleolfactory.com> http://www.alittleolfactory.com Christine Ziegler [chrisziggy] Friday, September 16, 2005 8:51 PM VCO Infused With Vanilla I've been doing some vanilla playing, and this afternoon I put about 40 fl oz of VCO (Virgin Coconut) into my crock pot - added about 50 grams of the Madagascar extract vanilla beans (a little under 2 oz) that I split and cut into pieces and then put it on low. I turned it off once and turned it back on again. At the moment it has a NICE vanilla scent - not extraordinarily strong, but very noticeable. I'm going to leave it sit all night, probably turning it off right before I hit the hay and see how it is in the morning. Just wanted to share my ongoing experiment I know Carrie over at Scent Garden has successfully made a wonderful vanilla infused Jojoba .. we'll have to try to get her to share her secret, but at the moment she's in the middle of moving, so we'll have to wait until she gets a moment to breathe and come up for air .. :-o I've also got my perpetual Mason jar full of Vanilla beans and Everclear that I use for Vanilla extract in my cooking recipes, and I am seriously thinking of using some of it to disperse my bug repellant oil concentrate in, at least the stuff I turn into a spray, since I've heard lots of good things about vanilla helping repel insects too! If I find that it works well I suppose I'll use the Vanilla infused oils in the lotion version. *Smile* Chris Don't Miss The Vanilla Bean Blow Out http://www.alittleolfactory.com <http://www.alittleolfactory.com/> Think left and think right and think low and think high.
