Guest guest
Hey y'all, Lemme say that IF I thought Wintergreen or Sweet Birch (Methyl Salicylate) was a LAST RESORT .. I would use it on me and mine. But .. it would have to be a last resort. And .. I would not recommend .. or sell .. it to anyone else. I say this because I recently went through some pretty bad pain and at the time I would not have refused either if I had them on hand .. though I later learned they wouldn't have helped me anyway. While on my two month trip to the USA we covered 18 states and I drove over 7,500 miles .. plus did some mountain climbing and fought one heck of a lot of fish .. some were pretty dang big fish. ;-) To make a long story short .. the next to last week I was having some terrible back problems .. I thought it was sciatica. I couldn't walk, stand, sit or spit without being in terrible pain. Sniffing Oregano EO did not work so I figured it was not just sciatica. The pain was so bad I felt like crying but I had to keep driving. As soon as we pulled into Clarksville, TN, I put the family in a motel and immediately went to a local Chiropractor .. he took X-Rays and confirmed what I suspected since I had been down that road one other time .. 5 or 6 years before. Two old injuries had caused my spine to jack outta shape .. it was obvious from the X-Rays. That boy put a hot electric pad on my back and hips and then gave me a few love hugs and in a matter of minutes, I was a new man again. Tanya had helped me to the car before I visited the Chiropractor .. so when I came back around an hour later walking like a new man .. she was impressed with Chiropractory. I visited the feller again the next morning .. got a few more love hugs. This all went down around 19 or 20 August and to this date I have felt finer'n frog hair split three ways. I am convinced that the majority of our aches and pains .. be they in the back, legs, arms, neck, head .. or whatever .. can be taken care of temporarily by a good Chiropractor. True it is that they don't offer a permanent cure .. but they can fix the immediate problems and a visit or 3 a year to one can keep us in good shape. Also true it is that the majority of the medical doctors will want to operate when we have such problems .. that sucks! Anyway .. after having experienced the pain I had then .. I can easily understand why folks would take the risk of continuous use of Methyl Salicylate .. it does work. But there are other EO one could also try that might work .. like Rosemary, Cineole and Black Pepper .. and before I would resort to use of Methyl Salicylate .. I'd visit a Chiropractor and maybe learn why I had these problems in the first place. We have no Chiropractors here in Turkey .. that's one of many reasons I have decided to come back to the USA in the Spring. I know that my condition is not going to go away because those traumatic injuries have developed into arthritis .. and I know that I am not going to restrict my activity so as to avoid such pain .. so I gotta be around folks who can take care of it when it hits me again. ;-) Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
