EO In The Eye ** Flushing

I know, I know I KNOW! I always flush with water. BUT, last week my son

knuckled Tea tree into his eye (my ten year old) and was screaming. I did

" dilute " it real quick with milk, which stopped the pain long enough for him

to get up to and to hang over the sink so I could flush.

That's the ONLY time I have ever used milk. It was just a temporary quick

solution so I could get down to the real job of flushing. And to stop the

little monster from screaming.

Bad advice! Mea Culpa. What can I say, I'm an idiot.

Got my order. Yumsville. Thanks mucho! Oh! Loved the nutmeg sample. That's

next on my list.

Hey Kathleen,

> Never Never Never NEVER put eo's in your eye. EVER!

Agree .. good advice. However, there are times when the use of some

hydrosols in the eyes is not only safe .. but quickly effective .. one

example is Rose Hydrosol direct to the eyes to knock the crap out of

Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye). But .. one must make sure that the hydrosol

has not become contaminated with critters prior to use.

Disagree .. me and hundreds of other folks have been trying to stop this

rumor for many years. Never, Never, Never try to wash an essential oil

from the eyes using milk .. or anything else except .. CLEAR WATER!

This rumor began long ago and its based on a correct assumption that

leads to an incorrect conclusion. The correct assumption is that EO

will not dilute in water .. but will dilute in any fatty substance ..

like milk .. or even alcohol.

But when one gets EO in the eye .. the intent is NOT to dilute .. and

spread the EO .. the intent is to flush it from the eye .. and water is

the ONLY liquid that will do this.

So y'all .. do as you want to .. but if you do get EO in your eye and

you do not use water .. it will be the last time you choose to not use

water .. and that's a fact. ;-)

Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
