Thanks Butch,

I thinks it's a Spotted Sail Fin thingee (got a fin like a sail, has spots

and tiger strips, albeit fat stripes)... Definately has catfish similarities

and was out of the tank for quite a while. Wasn't dry but sure wasn't WET

either. Right now it's prolly digesting carpet fibers. And resting...

Wishing for a beer to wash the day away with! LOL!

If a fish is weakened for any reason a craw dad will sho'nuf take care

of the problem. And as you probably know by now, cats and aquarium fish

don't mix well. The proper way to teach kitty cats not to bother the

fish is to get another tank and put it where the cat has ready access to

it. And .. put a buncha piranha in the tank.

If the sucky fish whut you found on the floor is a Bushy Nose or Spotted

Sail Fin Plecostomus sucky fish its kinda like a catfish in that it can

live outside water for some time long as it doesn't get too dry.

As for how long they can live outside of water .. normally, it is till

they die. But since you put the sucky fish back in the tank already ..

it'll be OK as long as it doesn't float to the top or sink to the

bottom. If it floats to the top the cat is gonna git it .. if it sinks

to the bottom the craw dad is gonna git it. But if it goes back to

doing its job as a sucky fish .. then the cat and the craw dad just

gonna have accept the disappointment.

> Just another drama in the life.

Well .. you only need one each sucky fish in a tank anyway .. they can

control all the algae you can create .. and you only need one bottom

crap eater fish too.

Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch

Uh, Kathleen-- DON'T give the sucky fish the beer! (No matter HOW

much he begs. . . :)

I'm with Butch-- if he's back to doing what sucky fish do-- too bad

for the crawfish and the cat!

(Back to lurking, along with, in all likelihood, the crawfish and the

cat! :)

Hey Sue

>snicker< No beer.

I think he might have been out of the water a wee bit too long. He's acting

very quiet today. Course if I had come that close to death I might take a

day or two to recover as well. Will have to see if he makes it. Keeping the

Crayfish off him by feeding him. Or is it a she? I believe it's a she.

Meanest crayfish to come to the pike. Meanest one we've ever had at any

rate.
