Guest guest
Hey Rosanne, > Hi everyone, > > Could oregano or rosemary hydrosols, alone or combined, be > used as an effective germ killer on household surfaces? Oregano Hydrosol .. Yes .. Absolutely. Its the Carvacrol that does the trick. We have always used it to clean/disinfect our kitchen areas and our bathroom. I have many, many scientific studies to support this. Rosemary Hydrosol .. Yes .. depending on the purity/strength of the Hydrosol. If it has been diluted with distilled water .. then the answer would be Maybe. There are many therapeutic uses for most hydrosols: Rose is used for cooking, as a spritz and directly in the eyes to cure conjunctivitis .. Yarrow Hydrosol is effective as an anti-inflammatory for problem skin .. and Oregano Hydrosol is antimicrobial, calms the stomach, aids digestion and kills many germs on contact. Most Hydrosols have therapeutic value. > Thanks. Guest guest
This is probably a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway: If Oregano hydrosol works as a disinfectant, could one make a herbal tea and use it? Guest guest
boy I have to agree with you here! I just did this this morning as I can 'feel' the cold coming thru my 'back' ... and a travelen upwards...so I tried to add just ONE TINY TINY TINY droplet of oregano to my organic green tea...oh my.....I DID drink it - not because it was delish though :-)..only because I know it will probably knock the germies out! AND I even tried to put it in my 'broccoli' soup that I concocted today .. oh my ... the oregano taste came thru loud and clear - had to add a lot more brocolli and I really wasn't so much greenies in my tummy at the moment....one thing fer sure....the oregano from Butch is VERY VERY strong! LOL - if it don't get those little bad bug butts....then I don't know what will! Blessings & Health Pam TLC Naturally http://www.tlcnaturally.com , " Woobey Queen " <WoobeyQueen wrote: > > For what? Guest guest
First off, in Turkey they do drink oregano hydrosol. Now, ya wouldn't want to drink a lot .. a little goes a long way! In places, like Turkey, where they use it as a tonic, they don't go drinking glassfuls of the stuff - they use it by the spoonful ;-p Also, consider adding your spoonful to something like V-8 juice instead of water! That'll make it taste better! On a similar side note - I was feeling all jittery the other morning and I was on the phone with my partner in pre-buys, Nikie, and she reminded me to go put a Neroli hydrosol twist into that coffee of mine - and by golly IT was delish and calmed that jitteriness! .. I'm actually thinking about how great a Neroli Hydrosol twist would be in a cup of my favorite tea .. Earl Grey - made with real Bergamot Oil Have a great weekend everyone! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com On Behalf Of Woobey Queen For what? To DRINK?
