Guest guest
Hey Marge, Your post hit a nerve .. I agree with it and will add a bit. > almost as irritating as earthlink... someone you've never heard of writes > and asks a bunch of questions... you take the time to answer them... > > you get a reply " I'm sorry, but I'm protecting myself from spam... please > click here, type in an almost unreadable string of letters and numbers, and > tell me why you are writing to me: " > > " I'm trying to answer the questions you asked me, but your ISP won't let me " > > grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr > > Over 10 years online supplying Aromatherapy and Healthcare Professionals > Essential Oils, Hydrosols, Accessories, Hard to find Books and Videos > http://www.naturesgift.com True it is .. happens all the time .. and when it does .. it reminds me of the old Sunday paper cartoon strip, " Urge to Kill. " ;-) Other problems I often have are .. 1. An email comes from an email address .. no name. I have over 2,000 customer files .. I can identify maybe 50 of those customers by their email address .. it is NOT possible to list files by email address in any case and I defy anyone to try .. likewise, its not possible to use last names first because they change often. So .. if its not a first time order at least they should put Suzy or something on the email. ;-) 2. An order comes from an email address with the name Suzy only .. and an incomplete mailing address. Though Suzy might be well known in Podunk, AR .. I doubt that the Post Office knows where she lives. 3. Every few weeks I write to a long list of " Delinquent Order " customers. These are folks who ordered .. we confirmed the order .. gave them the shipping cost and told them the options for payment .. and never heard from them again. This is gonna happen .. maybe 5% of the orders I get are made by folks at a weak moment .. like when folks make promises at a cocktail party and then wake up the next morning wondering why they did such a thing .. but lately, there is a great increase in these Delinquent Orders. I write them and tell them that it is possible they responded or maybe they didn't get my email .. like the Cyber Monsters could have been operating on either end. And tell them that if they changed their mind that's fine .. as long as I know they are getting the mail or I am not the one at fault. Now .. I am seeing so many of them tell me that their Spam Filter put the mail in a special place. Say what? Nobody ever said this was an easy business. ;-) Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
