Chris, You are not alone - I too live without any prescription drugs - as does my husband or daughter - my daughter (who is 20 ) has had antibiotics maybe 6 times in her life - 2x prescribed by a Naturopathic physician & 2x in the past yr because of her wisdom teeth (they have now been extracted I was always considered the weirdo as I used the naturopathic docs & always had " alternatives " to treat those pesky things like ear infections/colds/flu/childhood diseases My mother in law (89 yrs) was put on a cholesterol med about 2 yrs ago & had such bad side effects she told the doc that she would take her chances :) & quit the medication - :) I agree with Dave that the direct to consumer ads for all these medications has been detrimental to the health of our nation - we live in such an " instant " society - folks think that a med will give them " instant " relief I work in a dental office & am amazed daily at how many meds most people take & how even young people in their 20's & 30's are on multiple medications YIKES Do I think that some folks may require meds for certain problems - YES - but we are an over medicated nation now off my soapbox as well :) Lesley
