It's like trying to run Windows 95 or 98, or an old paint/photo problem that crashed my Word this week. It's like your theory of drinking and driving, you may get away with it for a long time and then one night you're wrapped around a telephone pole. Your old programs are hitting a pole, lol. I would NOT try to save them, I'd install new programs that are better suited for interface with our modern computers and their demands. One little corrupt file and your SOL. Thank you ma'am. I have been thinking hard of sacrificing a bottle of Turkish Raki to the Commo Spirits (recycled of course) but I am just too danged busy to slow down now. ;-) > This has been a week for craptacular web screwups for many people. Yep .. matter of fact on that. Wasn't important so I didn't mention it but our satellite TV also went down this week .. as well as my entire I-Net & telephone system for 2 + days. > Glad you got Graham working on it, since he installed it originally, > but I really think that you're having a problem similar to one I had > this week on a HD program: the program was just too old, and got > senile and croaked. I'll bet if you > upgrade to a 21st century cart, this won't happen again ;-) Dang system I have has worked well for 8 + years .. maybe it went down 2 or 3 times temporarily .. that's very good considering it gets a lots of use .. 100 or so orders a week from servers world wide. > Best of luck with fixing it before you split for cold Mama Russia, and > have fun on your trip! Thankee ma'am .. on both counts. :-P > PS There's no dishonor in shutting down the site for a few days and > " going fishing " -- folks do it all the time. It's a holiday week > coming up -- give those ladies in Friendsville a break, lol. Can't do that .. the holiday applies to the USA only .. got buyers in 87 countries outside the USA .. tough enough it is that my folks in MD work only 5 days now. ;-) > PPS this message brought to you by someone who hasn't had a vacation > in 15 years! I was like that for a lotta years .. but when I am not on vacation .. I work an average of 100 hours a week .. that is not an exaggeration. I like what I am doing. And this trip to Russia is more of an obligation than it is a vacation for me. ;-) > Anya McCoy > of Natural Perfume http://anyasgarden.com > Artisan Natural Perfumers Guild http://artisannaturalperfumers.org > Natural Perfumers Chat Group > Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
