Guest guest
I am very sorry about the nuissance and wish a very good Thanksgiving Day for EVERY ONE. We always have something to thank for. We have no such a day here in Brazil, though... The ones who can eat turkey on Christmass. The ones I work for, raise them. And so did I ( Puma concolor ate them all). Because of this beautiful remaining Nature I thank God. Do not eat too much, do not drink too much and keep having a lot of things to thank for next year. God bless you Ane* from Brasil
Guest guest
Do not eat too much, do not drink too much and keep having a lot of things to thank for next year. God bless you Ane* from Brasil [Dave:] Thanks for those wishes, Ane! And a Happy Thanksgiving to you all. This is my favorite holiday. No political or religious baggage, no controversy, just a simple occasion to remember the things we are grateful for. And there are so many things. I like to remind myself today that no matter what the TV says, crime has been going down for years. In spite of the fearmongering, we live relatively safely from terror. As poor as we may be in this country, we are still among the richest in the world. Each of us has a computer – amazing! Thanks to NetFlix or Blockbuster we’ll be well-entertained on an afternoon of leisure. In my own life, for everything that’s been lost, something has been gained. At the store where I work, we had reservations for nearly 800 free-range turkeys. In the last three days, we got them all to the right people with almost no glitches. When I lived in Texas, I used to smoke the Thanksgiving turkey. I’d build the fire the previous afternoon, and put the turkey in around 9PM. Then I would sit up all night minding that fire, adding liquid to the water pan and adding soaked pecan wood that I would have picked up and kept under bricks in a bucket for two weeks. That slow smoking made a delicious bird. So many memories to be thankful for. I hope this day finds each of you happy, safe, and surrounded by your favorite friends. -- Version: 7.5.430 / Virus Database: 268.14.14/547 - Release 11/22/2006 5:41 PM -- Version: 7.5.430 / Virus Database: 268.14.14/547 - Release 11/22/2006 5:41 PM
