Hey Susan,

I make my own laundry detergent. What questions do you have? I do not claim

to be an expert or anything, far from it, but I will help as much as I can

or can possibly point you in the right direction.

Susan,

On occasion I do. When we don't have enough money to go and buy the big

thing of Tide, I go ahead and make my own liquid soap, or I chop up some of

my older soap and chunk it in the wash.

Please! Do share with the list!

I need something for hard well water.

Adding washing soda really helps.

Does anyobe know if there are

disadvantages to that?

How does soda affect the eco-system

of the sceptic tank?

Thanks for any help!

the laundry powder I make is a mix of lard soap, borax and washing soda. It's

better for your septic system than the laundry soap you get from the store

This site should keep you busy for days! Lots of opinions:

www.soapdishforum.com/forum

I'd read through all the archives before I jump in asking questions

though...the members there are pretty much expected to do their

homework and read what is already there, before asking questions that

have been answered time and time again. The discussions range from the

most basic to professional. The members, too.

Here is a link to the only professional trade association for people

who make soap: www.soapguild.org. The newly updated web site has lots

of resources. [not my website...that one was taken down 3.5 years ago!]
