Laundry soap to dry cleaning alternatives

Now that we are discussing laundry soap, what about an alternative to taking

clothes to the dry cleaners? I received as a gift some clothing items that need

to be dry cleaned. How can these be cleaned without taking them to the

cleaners? I am unable to return them to the store and would like to use them

but I haven't because I can't wash them at home. They are just hanging in my

closet. The last time I hand washed a blouse that should have been dry cleaned,

it shrunk about 3 sizes! Any suggestions or ideas out there? Thanks in advance
