Guest guest
Hi Everbody: I know I haven't been very active on list since I was diagnosed with Myleo Dysplastic Syndrom, a blood disease that can turn into acute lukemia. In November of 2004 I was given one year to live. Passed that by another year this past November. I am doing an herbal regime that seems to be improving my white blood count. Plus 'Butch's Oregeno (Origanum dubium) when I feel a cold coming on. I also opted for no treatment with all those 'rotten chemicals' So far, so good. My big question is if there is an eo blend that would combat a ringworm problem. My granddaughter is having quite a time with this and I wondered if lavendar or an herbal combination would help this situation. Right now they are using a creme for athletes foot. She gets one cleared up and then breaks out in another place. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Guest guest
Does your granddaughter have cats in her house? Sometimes a cat (particularly long hair cats) can be a carrier of ringworm and show no outward signs itself. If she is in contact with any pets, I would have them examined very closely by a vet for possible ringworm infection. In addition to the topical treatment she is getting, any pets need to be looked at; in addition to making sure that the home is very thoroughly cleansed to get rid of any fungal spores. The source needs to be found as to why it is reoccurring. Sorry that I don't know of a specific EO blend for you, but I have heard that Lamisil cream is the best for ringworm. Children do seem to be more susceptible to ringworm in general. Susan _____ My big question is if there is an eo blend that would combat a ringworm problem. Ringworm is a fungus...so I'd try the anti-fungal oils... tea tree comes to mind first - Myrrh, lavandin super... dilution, of course, is dependant upon her age.... Guest guest
>My big question is if there is an eo blend that would combat a ringworm problem. Hi Effie, I use of mixture of tea tree EO and manuka EO in jojoba oil or aloë vera gel, about 25 drops of each per 100 ml carrier. Guest guest
Black walnut tincture is the only thing Ihave found to combat this.. externally and internally. Also, oregano essential oil is a high powered anti-fungal. Guest guest
I had the same problem, and it turns out that I'm allergic to wheat. It causes an over abundance of yeast or fungus on the skin - ringworm. My doctor also gave me the creams, and it would just come back. I got tired of it being a problem. I went to an osteopath for a physical, and he took one look at it and said it probably was a sensitivity to wheat. Did the blood tests, and he was right. You might want to get your grandaughter tested. A wheat or gluten intolerance might be a possibility for the recurrences. If the creams don't get rid of, then something else is causing it. I just bathe using my own lavender soap with ground lavender in it. Works like a charm. I haven't had a recurrence in three years. HTH - Tam Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail beta. Guest guest
Hi Smilin' Effie It is always good to see you post - especially since you're not supposed to be here! {grinz} Now, onto the ringworm ... If it were me and mine I'd run for the herb Taheebo Bark a.k.a. Pau D'Arco Bark (Tabebuia impetiginosa). My herbal teacher, Arcus Flynn, always used to say " If its a fungus and Taheebo doesn't take care of it, then it isn't a fungus! " . Taheebo Bark is very versatile to work with. It can be made into a decoction (tea) and used internally or externally as a wash. An alcohol tincture can also be made with it. Infused into an oil (i.e. olive oil) it can be used in creams and lotions. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi Everybody: I know I haven't been very active on list since I was diagnosed with Myleo Dysplastic Syndrom, a blood disease that can turn into acute lukemia.
