Hey folks,

Just wanted to mention, last night I enjoyed some vodka that I have

vanilla beans living in and WOW! It is awesome. (Far superior IMHO to

the " Vanilla Vodkas " available pre-made).

I suggest everyone make some, whether it is for consuming, or spraying

onto oneself as simple, yet luscious, personal fragrance!!!! Actually, I

prefer to use my Everclear tinctured vanilla for perfumes, but not

everyone can get Everclear, and I'd never drink that stuff (can you say

" intense " ?) *lol*! The Vanilla Vodka is so very multipurpose!

YUMMMMMMY!

Christine,

Are there going to be any vanilla bean prebuys anytime soon, or do you have

them on your website? Just thinking about a Christmas present for one of my

aunts.

[Dave:] Ah, you’ve reminded me of something! Many years ago, I minored in

Russian language and literature. I had a wonderful professor named

Valentina Fyodorovna, and she taught me how to make a very special (and

surely dangerous) traditional Russian Christmas vodka. Here’s how you make

it: during the warm months, save up a couple handfuls of fruit pits.

Whatever flavor you like, peach, cherry, apricot, or just mix ‘em. Dry them

on the windowsill and then crack them open with pliers or a nutcracker.

Inside each pit is a kernel that is just brimming with things like laetrile,

strychnine, and various alkaloids. You take these and put them in a bottle

of vodka, wrap it up in foil, and stick it on a shelf. At Christmas, the

tradition is to drink last year’s bottle and make next year’s. I can’t

remember what this beverage is called, but they have special liqueur glasses

for it, very elegant and tiny. They only hold half an ounce or so. You

drink this stuff VERY sparingly! It makes you high as a kite and trust me,

it isn’t the alcohol. You could probably kill yourself with this stuff, but

it tastes wonderful.

[Dave:] Seems like I remember reading somewhere that they’ve decided

absinthe isn’t so bad after all, and have started allowing it to be made and

sold again. Not sure about that. Russian Christmas Vodka is something that

probably should not be legal, and definitely should not fall into the wrong

hands. There’s just no telling what drugs you’re ingesting with this stuff.

Not to go into how I know this, but having a load of strychnine in your

system is not a very enjoyable experience.

[Dave:] I always would’ve liked to try that one, but I’ve just somehow

never had a couple of grand to spend on a potentially fatal meal.
