Guest guest
Hi All, I recently bought quite a selection of EO's, and I also got some Oakmoss Absolute. I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do with the Oakmoss, but mostly just wanted to smell it, and then decide how I would use it. Admittedly, I'm quite ignorant about the Oakmoss and it's potential uses. I'm under the impression that it's often used in perfumery for it's scent (and maybe it's also used in soaps as well??). I'm not sure. If anyone could help me with some basic info on Oakmoss, and/or its uses I'd be most appreciative. Thanks! Make it a GREAT day! Maybe someone who does soap can chime in. The thing to know about oakmoss is that it can be a skin irritant, so you don't want to use it in large amounts or undiluted. But happily, you don't need to. A little oakmoss in a perfume blend goes a long way. In fact you need to use it quite conservatively or it will take over the blend. -Patty ______________________________\ ____ Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail beta. http://new.mail. For the most part you'd want to use it in small amounts anyway, as it has a pretty decent " scent intensity " . It is a GREAT fixative .. it even helps keep those fleeting citruses from evaporating into space as quickly! It can be used in perfumes and potpourris. In esoteric blends it is associated with the element of Earth and astrologically with Venus. It is said to be an aphrodisiac. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
Guest guest
RIFM in 2006 recommend that Oakmoss absolute should not be used in products at more than 0.1%. This is because of concern over the skin sensitising potential of two of the chemicals it contains. http://www.aromamedical.com Martin Watt , " winna222 " <rlludwick wrote: > > Hi All, > I recently bought quite a selection of EO's, and I also got some > Oakmoss Absolute.
