Guest guest
With all of the talking about laundry soap I started wondering if anyone has any dish washing soap recipes. This would be for washing by hand, not in a dishwasher. Thanks. Jo Ann Nourse
Guest guest
I make a 100% coconut oil liquid soap for washing hands and doing dishes. It is beautiful light clear golden color but is on the thin side unless you use something to thicken it. I also use this for laundry. Catherin Failor's book Making Natural Liquid Soaps. Guest guest
Do you use the soap straight or do you dilute some in water? Guest guest
I dilute it in water as it is a very thick paste. - susan Wednesday, January 17, 2007 10:31 AM Re: Recipe for dish washing soap Do you use the soap straight or do you dilute some in water? Guest guest
Just poking in quickly here to explain to Susan and the other folks here who might be interested ... KOH liquid soap begins as a solid. Its actually a solid " paste " that is similar to the consistency of Vaseline. When water is added it dilutes into what we think of as liquid soap (the viscosity is determined by the amount of water used to liquefy it). *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com > - > susan > > > Do you use the soap straight or do you dilute some in water? Guest guest
Thank you! I read your recipe for castile liquid soap and was wondering about that. I really no nothing about the process and have to find some good reading on the subject. Someday I'm going to give this a try! Guest guest
I am a lover of making LS and have made many different formulas . . . my hands down favorite for hand washing dishes, hand washing clothes and the regular washing machine is a lard and coconut . . . 80 lard and 20 coconut.. It keeps my sink and dishcloth white as snow . . . love it. -Helen
Guest guest
Thanks so much for the info sent in on handmade dish washing soap recipes. I especially appreciated the info about dilluting the liquid soap with water. I haven't made liquid soap before, just CP and rebatch so I had no idea that I would need to dilute it. Do I need to add a preservative since I am adding water to the finished liquid soap?
