Hi Susan,

 

Herbal tinctures are also known as herbal " extracts " . They are the herbs

steeped for a period of time in a menstruum of either alcohol, vinegar

or sometimes even glycerin. This extracts the medicinal properties of

the herbs and also preserves them. They are highly concentrated and

taken by drops (or ml's), internally, in most cases.
