Guest guest
Below is the latest info on the petition ... I must say, I'm quite surprised at the lack of discussion on this topic here. I know its been a super busy work week for many and that makes it difficult to get involved in extracurricular reading. I hope everyone gets a chance this weekend to check this out further as it is quite an important issue that could greatly affect all of us here in one way or another. *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi all, At last (!) we have a petition up - just this minute - protesting against the 40th IFRA amendment and its implications for all natural aromatics/essential oil users at http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/ifra40/ This isn't really just about Cropwatch, its about taking a stand against one of the prime movers (IFRA) in a regulatory process, which (intentionally or otherwise), is slowly phasing out the use of natural materials in favour of synthetics in cosmetics/fragrances. We can see a similar process going on - the phasing out of natural aromatic materials - in many other areas - biocides, over-the-counter medicines, household products etc. etc. Please, please, please .... help us by signing this petition. I know I've been asking you to do several things lately - but a good showing here in particular can help us enormously by proving that David (us) can triumph over Goliath (the Corporates). A bad showing means that we can be dismissed by the authorities as insignificant. Please help us by spreading the word on this petition to as many groups and individuals as possible. Cheers, www.cropwatch.org
Guest guest
I would be interested if I understood what was going on (I hope I'm not the only one). I don't have time to delve into this deeply and a brief explanation and no acronyms would help a great deal. I must say, I'm quite surprised at the lack of discussion on this topic here. Guest guest
Hi Chis an all I think the lack of discussion could be due to problems which are still on going according to the Team Blog : " ALERT!!! " We are currently experiencing a Groups email backlog. Messages posted on January 25 and 26 may be delayed or delivered out of order. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please check the http://blog.360./y_groups_team?p=561 for updates. " UPDATE January 29 10:00 a.m. Pacific time: Groups messages sent now should be delivered in a timely way. Older messages may be bottlenecked, but will eventually be delivered. This means users may see older messages delivered out of order. We continue to monitor the situation on the back end and appreciate your reports. We will update you when we have further information to share. " Hopefully things will be back to normal in a day or so and we can re-post the Cropwatch petition - Well, I may as well do it now as current mail is getting through - allegedly LLx The Petition - (Please sign up.....). I'd like to add that there's a poll going on at http://perfumerflavorist.com and you can vote for Cropwatch there. It's an informal poll from the industry, and we need to have good numbers there, since many big firms will be encouraging their employees to vote against Cropwatch, I'm sure. The poll is at the bottom left corner of the homepage.
