Guest guest
Does she pee in the box, or outside. Is it only BMs she does outside the box? I have a boy cat who does BMs outside the box but pees in it. I have no clue why. I'm thinking he might be constipated and is finding it painful and so tries different places. He has done this ever since I got him. He has never struck me as a bright cat...so I keep thinking maybe he just thinks that is the way he is supposed to do it. It is usually quite well formed so I just pick it up and clean the spot where he did it. I love him and don't mind too much. Sometimes it is quite dry so I wonder if it is because he is constipated. Which I could do something about but I don't know if I want real loose stools on my carpet!! aie!! Peggy
Guest guest
Peggy, Yes, its BMs that she does outside the litter box and I wonder if she is constipated. I wonder if they have fiber therapy for cats. lol Jo Ann Nourse -- In , " Peggy Lowell " <peggy wrote: > > Does she pee in the box, or outside. Is it only BMs she does outside the box? Guest guest
I was at my local Costco a week ago, and I found something called " Litter Purrfect " by Back to Nature. Label says " Herbal Odor Control with Lemongrass Essence and Baking Soda. Scoopable Cat Litter. Harder Clumping. " I got a 30-pound container (it's a big green container) for under $7. I opened the container to look at it (we have not yet put it in the litter box; we want to run out of stuff we are using); it is MUCH finer than the " normal " cat litter. Not as fine as sand, but much more " foot friendly. " Doesn't smell half-bad, either. It isn't " sharp " and " pointy " like regular litter. Might be worth a try. Guest guest
I'll bet they do have some sort of fiber therapy. Increasing fluid somehow might help. Maybe try feeding wet catfood? Not a vet though so I have no idea. Peggy, Yes, its BMs that she does outside the litter box and I wonder if she is constipated. Guest guest
Thanks Joanne. I tried the wet food and gave her something for furballs hoping it would help. It didn't seem to help so today I will buy some canned pumpkin and add that to her food. Jo Ann Nourse , " shupy3 " <jwittenbrook wrote -------------------------------- Pumpkin.
