Guest guest
I've used Vanessa's from www.herbsofgrace.com I really love it, it's wonderful stuff, and reasonably priced, too. I have used other mineral makeup products, but this is my hands down favorite. hth, Sandy
Guest guest
I think this company are stretching the meaning of the term " natural " to the absolute limit. Many people consider that only products made or derived from plants should have that title. This company and other selling so called " mineral " cosmetics are in reality using the same minerals as are used in conventional cosmetics. In addition, they do not say what preservative systems they use which frequently are not of natural origin. On one page they say they do not use oils in their produces, yet on the lip balm products page they state the ingredients as containing fixed oils. Misleading marketing claims are as common in alternative web sites as in convential cosmetics. The Internet is crammed to bursting with such hype. Guest guest
I have put many years into sourcing the minerals I use in my products. Most conventional makeup companies use minerals coated with synthetic dyes such as FD & C colorings and lakes, as well as synthetic polymers. The only minerals I use are coated with other mineral colorants such as iron oxides and titanium dioxide. There are also many different qualities and grades of minerals and I have spent an exorbitant amount of time and energy sampling and researching them, so I can offer my customers superior quality products. The minerals used in conventional makeup, of course, are only a small portion of the total ingredients used which include many controversial and synthetic substances. An all mineral makeup product is completely different than a conventional makeup product. Comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges. Furthermore, there is no definition of " natural " that excludes naturally occurring minerals. All my products, excluding the lip balms, are loose mineral products, and, as stated, do not contain oils. (Obviously a lip balm, by nature, will contain fixed oils.) Nor do they need, require, or contain preservatives, as inorganic substances like minerals cannot support bacterial or fungal growth. I have taken great care to make full ingredient disclosure on my website and labels and provide accurate information to consumers. I want my customers to be able to make as fully informed a decision as they possibly can. ~~~~~~Vanessa~~~~~~ www.herbsofgrace.com Natural Look Mineral Makeup On Feb 3, 2007, at 2:43 AM, aromamedical2003 wrote: > I think this company are stretching the meaning of the term " natural " > to the absolute limit. In that case coal is " natural " as is crude oil, arsenic, cobalt, etc. I really do not think it is fair marketing to imply that minerals in cosmetics make them natural. This group is supposed to be about oils, herbs and allied things, not about non-organic products , but that's my opinion. I just do not believe that adding such minerals to a cosmetic makes it better than a cosmetic made using mostly organic materials plus a touch of synthetic preservative to make it safe. I have had much experience over the years producing totally natural cosmetic products and no one has ever said they are inferior to those containing minerals. The only exception is I do think some clays are useful, but as part of a cleansing regime rather than as regular skin cosmetics.
