I make toothpaste with a vegetable glycerin base to which I add clay, baking

soda and essential oils of clove, peppermint, myrrh and tea tree to taste. I

like it.

GRAS does not mean a product is safe. It simply means it is given

that status depending on the circumstances of use in the original

application. Without knowing what the volumes being used were in

that application, and the formulation used, this GRAS term can be

highly misleading.

Anyone using essential oils should check the archives in this group

as this subject it critically important. Better, try buying proper

safety data. Sensitisation is not just related to using large

amounts although that does not help. It is certain oils that are the

problem and their age and storage. There are basic guidelines on my

website in the articles section.

I think you are using this oil in such a way that you are storing up

problems for yourself.

Gosh I did the kitchen he other night, it had been such a hot day and the

evening was no better so I thought if I did something to heat up I might

feel cooler after. Didn't work.

Anyhow.

This time I used in a bucket about 1.4 filled a capful of car wax wash I

got for the car, it cleans and adds a protective coat at the same time.

I also added about 1/4 cap tea tree oil.

This works wonders.

With a sponge I soon saturated the cupboards and rubbed gently with the

sponge, it all came out.

I then just absorbed with the sponge.

Then I did the stove and the wall behind the stove as the tea tree helps

dissolve grease, tar and such things as that making it easy and pleasant.

I also used eucalyptus on a different part as it does the same thing.

These two oils in particular as well as cutting grease, smoke and sludge

also sanitizes, acts as an antibacterial an leaves the surface fresh and

clean with an anticlerical coating as the oil stayed into wax finish part of

the soap which cost 1.95 at Go-Lo.

I usually use down to earth Euco wool mix, just a few drops with a few drops

of ammonia, a few drops of tea tree or euco oil and fill with warm water in

a spray/spritzer bottle. I then use this as a spray for tiles, sinks,

toilets, walls and anything a spray is needed for.

I did the front door, the inside doors and the front security door the other

day.

I used about 2 litres of warm water, several drops of tea tree and several

of eucalyptus as well as a non phosphate detergent, just one or two drops to

add a slight foam is all.

The doors came up a treat and I went on to the skirtings.

Then I did the shower yesterday with the same nice thick sponge and about 2

litres of water with 1/2 cap tea tree and a few drops of the liquid

detergent. (I get the Down to Earth) ((sorry to advertise)).

All the mould and scum disappeared, not that there was really any after I

did it last time about a year ago.

All of these I rinsed off with a couple of litres of warm water with just a

few drops of water soluble lavender oil, this gives a nice smell and finish

and dry off with a towel or old cloths.

I did the outside of the windows the other day as well.

I used a couple of litres of water I got from he rainwater tank run off

bucket I keep handy.

Once again just one or two drops of liquid detergent no more and this time I

added a few drops of water soluble lavender oil which masks the smell of the

two or three drops only of cloudy ammonia I added.

I washed the windows using the sponge and then squeegeed with the rubber

blade, wiping around the edges of the window with a cloth to stop runs.

With he left over water I did the aluminium weather boarding on the front of

the house, wiping it down with the lavender water and sponge. It comes up

clean with no effort, the small amount of detergent dissolving grease and

collecting the dirt and the ammonia killing mould and leaving it sparling

width oil leaving an insect repellent finish.

LOL
