Hi

My name is Kim and I'm very new to this list and all of these topics.

I would like to " start " by making my own mixtures of Bath soaks and

Hand scrubs. I really have a love of Eucalyptus, and would like to

use it for soaking in the tub, especially with winter here I love it

for sinuses and upper respiratory.

Also, when I go to the salons, I see and smell LOTS of lovely hand

scrubs. They all smell so wonderful I just dont know which to pick!!

I would like to learn the " basic recipe " if you will, so I can make

many different ones to try and also eventually make them as gifts

etc.

I dont know the rules of thumb for proportions of ingredierts

either so any recomendations for books or web sites that help

beginners with the basics would be greatly appreciated. I am truely

starting

from the beginning, and am very interested in learning about using EO

for therapeutic uses as well.

I have spent a lot of time reading & enjoying many of the previous

posts. (and taking notes as well) I am glad to have found the List!!

Thank-you

Kim from Ohio

Here's a simple scrub recipe.

Take equal parts of sugar or salt and mix with equal part of almond

oil. Add essential oils in the ratio of no more than 1 teaspoon to 1

cup of liquid. I use a blend of lavender, rose geranium and sweet

orange that seems to be pleasant and acceptible to a great number of

people.
